What is Metro World Kids?
Believe it or not, Metro World Kids has actually been around for a really long time! It was founded back in 1980 by Pastor Bill Wilson in Bushwick, Brooklyn & at that time everyone just called it “Yogi Bear Sunday School.” Skip ahead to present day & we’re now known as Metro World Kids!
Since then our goal has remained the same - to make learning about Jesus the most fun & exciting part of a kids week. We believe that it’s a crime to bore kids with the Gospel because Jesus is anything but boring!
You can find Metro World Kids Sunday School sites all across New York City. We have locations throughout all 5 boroughs, Tuesdays - Saturdays. Our Sunday School programs typically run anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour during which time we sing interactive songs, play fun games, win cool prizes & of course teach an interesting & relevant life-lesson from the Bible.
In the early 80’s when Pastor Bill first started running buses & picking up kids for Sunday School in Brooklyn, he never would have imagined that nearly 40 years later Metro World Kids would have locations around the globe. We have Sunday School locations in Kenya, South Africa, India, Peru, Colombia and the Philippines to name a few. During our Sunday School semesters our Metro programs involve over 200,000 kids, making Metro World Kids the largest Sunday School in the world!

What is the Metro World Kids program like?
Metro World Kids runs two types of Sunday School programs - Sidewalk Sunday School & Indoor Sunday School.
Our Sidewalk Sunday School programs are held outdoors in various neighborhoods throughout the city, including the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.
Our Indoor Sunday School program is located in Bushwick, Brooklyn on Saturdays at 1pm. Free bus transportation is available for this program in certain areas of Brooklyn. For specific bus pick up routes, please see ‘Find a Location!’ or call 718-453-3352 for more information.
Metro World Kids programs are all structured in the same way. Each program consists of a fun time for songs, games & a simple, relevant life-lesson teaching from the Bible. Generally, Metro World Kids programs run for roughly 30-45 minutes, but may be shortened when necessary to accommodate the weather.
Is Metro World Kids a free program to attend?
YES! All of our Metro World Kids programs are FREE & require no prior sign-up in order to attend.
